Dancing bats. NOT.

The "Revar" in the DDR tournament at Anthrocon this year was not me. I wasn't even at Anthrocon this year.

I've had half a dozen people ask me, so far, if I was there, because they saw "Revar" on the DDR tournament board, but didn't see me.

A month or two ago, I was contacted by the friend of someone who was playing the character "Revar" on an obscure tiny Muck. I met them, and pretty much said that I don't mind, so long as it was just there on that muck, and as long as she took care to make sure folks knew that she was not I. (I'm using character pronouns here. I'm unaware of their RL gender.) Really, Watts would be the one to ask permission of anyways, as Revar is his copyright.

I wonder if the "Revar" at Anthrocon was this same person? [Late note: She says she wasn't at Anthrocon either.]

It's a weird feeling... I've used the name Revar for so long now, it feels like a violation when someone else uses it in a context that collides with me. I can't claim sole rights to the name, as it's not my copyright in the first place, and names are hardly exclusive anyhow. It's still disturbing, though.

Know what you mean. Found there's a Katerina on taps. Just disturbing to think of someone mistaking her for me. Right, like every possible variation of Cat and Cathryn isn't taken all over the Internet.

I used Ceilirain for a long time -- (early 90s maybe, as a pen name for a local newsletter). I named my daugher in 95, Kayleigh Rain. Imagine my suprise to see that there was a band Ceili Rain out there. Blows my mind. They started in around 95, and a few years ago someone named their daughter Kayleigh Rain because they were fans of the band. Odd. Very odd.

Well, Revar, you can rest easier.

The 'Revar' on the DDR Finalists list was a misprint. They person told us their name and we wrote it down. They spell their name 'Reaver' though and it was corrected at tournament time.

Sorry for the confusion *^_^*

Re: Truth
So you're saying that all this time, you've been a raver....
