Quoth Slashdot:

"The Boston Globe is reporting that Republicans on the Senate judiciary committee have spied on confidential Democratic files for a year, studying their strategies and passing on the juicy bits to the media."

Guh! Didn't we (nearly, since he resigned) impeach a president over this sort of thing?
(Except he used wiretaps instead of a keyboard.)

And the apparent content of some of these files also looks pretty ugly. Grr. (Read the article)

I'm getting reallllllly pissed off at both sides of the aisle up there.

What saddens me is that I'm completely unsuprised by this whole escapade. It's a given that any politician will use anything that comes his way, regardless of how it was obtained, without so much as being ashamed. I've one thing to say to 'em:

"A plague upon both thine houses. May they crumble to dust and be mixed upon the wind, until all memory of them is gone from the hearts of men. May their names be insults, may their sons be so ashamed that they cast off the names and take on those of their wives instead. May your mothers proclaim that your are not of their womb. May the world be well rid of the lot of you, and may we never see your like again."

Extra irony.
What bothers me most is the fact that if it was anything but themselves who did it, the current government would be doing their best to nail the perpetrators to the wall with the new anti-hacking laws instead of making ludicrous "door was unlocked so we're allowed in" type of claims.

Didn't see anything particularly shocking in the memo contents. They want to block candidates they don't like, and are pursuing any legal (if not-nice) ways they can to do it. Altruism is not a political survival trait (for better or for worse).

Re: Extra irony.
Yes, if it were the Republicans who had been the victims of this breach, how many Democrats would be up on terrorism charges now?
