Things that please programmers

Every once in a while, while coding, I manage to do something that makes me really really pleased, and trying to explain it to anyone else usually falls flat. It's sometimes kind of frustrating.

Today I managed to fix up the Tool menu for the CAD I'm writing, and it came out really nice and elegant, I think. It's something that Just Works now, and seems nicely intuitive, and took several hours of work to implement. And the end user (hopefully) shouldn't ever even think about it.

I might have to check this out at some point. My current CAD tool is xfig.

I still haven't forgotten about the image-to-depth thing, either. I set up the camera calibration bits before getting sidetracked by the rest of life. I'll poke at it again after getting the plotter for the MUCK mapper working properly.
