Gee, I feel all goody two-shoes now.

Where the heck does the phrase "goody two shoes" come from anyways? It's highly nonsensical sounding.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In July I helped siege see the light (8 points). In October I bought porn for the_gneech (-10 points). Last Wednesday I signed my organ donor card (28 points). In June I gave sassinak a kidney (1000 points). Last Monday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole smudge_dragon's purse (30 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1056 points). For Christmas I deserve a toy train!

Sincerely,
revar

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In May khanfused and I robbed a bank (-50 points). In September on a flight to Bangladesh, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). Last week I set trishalynn's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last month I helped chipotle see the light (8 points). In February I caught a purse-snatcher who stole lionman's purse (30 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-118 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

Sincerely,
reality_fox

Huh. The Straight Dope says this:
"Little Goody Two-Shoes" was the heroine of a children's story of the same title, first published in 1765 and often attributed to that favorite of English graduate students everywhere, Oliver Goldsmith. The story, such as it is, concerns a poor waif who has somehow managed to make it through life with only one shoe. Finally rewarded with another, she scampers over hill and dale pointing at her feet and crying "Two shoes! Two shoes!" in so cloying a manner that her name has lived through the ages as a symbol of puerility. "Goody" is a contraction of "Goodwife," a form of address roughly equivalent to our "Mrs.," and now archaic.

Why do you think it is -10 instead of +10?

Very disturbing data point.
I apparently helped dracosphynx hide a body. I've also discovered that they include "committed genocide" in the list of potential sins =o.o=. That puts me about 5 kidneys below the "nice" level (do they have to be my kidneys?).

Was each link made from two pieces, or was there fill material inside that you removed? I'm having trouble seeing how to print these in a makerbot-compatible way (though I could just be overlooking…

Nah. It'd just take a dissolvable support material and higher resolution. There are commercial 3d printers out there that can print ball bearing assemblies in one pass, fully assembled.

Nice! ^_^ I was going to be flabbergasted if you were actually able to print it as a unit, but I guess that would take antigravity.

I printed each piece individually and assembled them after some cleanup. I did print four segments at a time, though, unattached, in a 2x2 grid.
